The customer asked us to create a series of advertising posters for the YC 2012 competition. The posters were meant to create a cohesive advertising campaign and give a creative outlook on each of the competition’s categories.. We used the structure of the logotype to depict the creative potential linked to the competition. The illustrations of different categories are bursting out from the letter Y (Young). While creating the structure of the layout we decided to produce extra tension by placing the lettering in central arrangement. By doing this we built an hourglass – an symbol of passing time as well as a reminder of the discipline that is necessary when joining the contest. We changed the look of the YC logotype on each poster, matching it with the illustration’s style. We used the same procedure while designing the campaign’s lead slogan – inspiring creativity.
